Affiliate disclosure
Skincare Daily earns money through affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works, because you should be able to read a recommendation here knowing precisely what is in it for me.
The required wording
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Skincare Daily is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. This site is also a participant in the iHerb Rewards affiliate program.
What that means in practice
- Some links to products on this site are affiliate links, most often to iHerb or to Amazon.
- If you click one and buy something, I receive a small commission from that retailer.
- You pay the same price either way. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not out of your pocket, and using a link here never costs you more than going to the site directly.
- Affiliate links are marked in the page's code as sponsored links, and every post carrying them says so at the top, above the article.
- Product blocks — the grey boxes with a red price tag — always contain affiliate links. Assume any link out to a shop is one.
What it does not mean
It does not mean a brand paid to be here. Nobody has ever paid to appear on this site, and there are no sponsored posts. I buy the products I write about at retail, with my own money, and I use them before writing.
It does not mean everything gets a positive review. A commission on a product I would not use myself is worth far less to me than being a site you believe. Where something is not worth buying, the post says so and there is no buy button.
It does not mean I am recommending a retailer over your local options. iHerb tends to appear first here because it ships internationally and its Japanese-brand stock is more reliable than Amazon's, where third-party listings for imported cosmetics vary a lot. Buy wherever you prefer.
Cookies and tracking
Clicking an affiliate link sets a cookie in your browser belonging to that retailer, which is how they know a purchase came from here. That cookie is set by Amazon or iHerb, not by this site, and it is covered by their privacy policies. The privacy policy for this site explains what data this site itself collects, which is very little.
