Privacy policy

This is a small site run by one person. It collects as little as it can get away with. Here is the whole picture.
The short version
- Skincare Daily does not set any cookies of its own.
- There are no ads and no ad networks.
- Analytics, where used, are cookieless and cannot identify you individually.
- The only personal information collected is an email address, and only if you type one into a signup form yourself.
- Clicking a link to a shop hands you over to that shop, which has its own cookies and its own policy.
Information collected automatically
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the page requested, your browser and operating system, and the time of the request. This is used to serve the site and to protect it from abuse. It is handled under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Where site analytics are enabled, they are cookieless: no cookie is stored on your device, no identifier follows you between sites, and no individual visitor profile is built. The data collected is aggregate — how many people read a post, roughly where in the world they were, which page they arrived from.
Affiliate links and their cookies
This site earns money through affiliate links, mainly to iHerb and Amazon. This is set out in full on the disclosure page.
When you click one of those links, the retailer sets a cookie in your browser so that it can attribute a later purchase to this site. That cookie is set by the retailer, not by this site, once you have left this page. It typically records that a referral came from here and when. It does not send me your name, your address, your payment details, or a list of what you bought — I see only anonymised totals of commissions earned.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon's use of your data is governed by the Amazon Privacy Notice, and iHerb's by the iHerb Privacy Policy. If you would rather not be tracked by either, you can visit those sites directly instead of using a link here, or block third-party cookies in your browser.
The email list
If you enter your email address into a form on this site, it is sent to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email service that runs the list. Kit stores your address and, if you open or click an email, records that.
- What I do with it: send you the thing the form promised, and an email when a new post goes up.
- What I never do with it: sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to a brand. Ever.
- Getting out: every email has a one-click unsubscribe at the bottom. It works immediately and you do not have to tell me why.
- Deleting your data: email me at hello@skincaredaily.online and I will delete your record from the list entirely, not just unsubscribe it.
Post pages load Pinterest's save-button script so the "Save this to Pinterest" button works. If you click it, Pinterest handles the save under its own privacy policy. The button does not report anything back to this site.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the UK, or California, you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In practice the only personal data this site holds is an email address on the mailing list. Email hello@skincaredaily.online and I will action any of those requests within 30 days, without asking you to justify it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted an email address here, tell me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. There is no version history; the current text is the current policy.
